Hikes & History

The Eastern Shore is a hidden gem for hikers, where rugged coastline, quiet forests, and sweeping ocean views come together in one unforgettable landscape. Lace up your boots and discover the wild, beautiful side of Nova Scotia. It’s waiting just outside your door.

Taylor Head offers a premier coastal experience along a rugged 6.5km peninsula that juts into the Atlantic ocean. The park features a 14.2 km network of interconnected trails ranging from easy beach walks to challenging headland treks.

A rugged 9.6km loop known for its wild, uneven terrain. The feature of the hike is the dramatic suspension bridge, often compared to an "Indiana Jones bridge", which overlooks a scenic waterfall and a concrete fish ladder designed to assist Atlantic salmon during their summer runs.

Licombe River Trail

A 5 min drive, followed by a 20 min walk from the motel is the old RCAF WWII station. While the original wooden radar tower is no longer standing, you can still see the original concrete footings and suspected anchor points.
