When you love something as much as we do, it's easy to forget that not everyone is familiar with the Eastern Shore of Nova Scotia. After two years of living here, we still can't believe how many people we meet who have never travelled along this part of the province. What?! How can that be?
If you follow us on social media or read any of our blog posts, you'll quickly learn that we are head over heels in love with our new home and the amazing people we have made friends with. So I thought it was time for a short list of reasons (excuses?) to come and visit not only the Eastern Shore, but our little property. Only one word of advice: get your overnight bag ready now - you're gonna want to hop in the car and visit.

That's right, in the amount of time it takes to watch Back to Future, you'll have taken the most beautiful coastal drive in the province! Open the windows, crank the music and feel the fresh salt air carry you towards rest and relaxation. You'll zip around bends, see beautiful islands and experience the natural, rugged beauty of this side of the province.

Choose your favourite here Each room features super comfy beds (our number one must-have when we renovated), crisp linens, a mini-fridge, hair dryer, coffee maker with complimentary coffee, cards and games, free wifi, streaming TV's and private balcony's with an ocean view. Everything you need for a luxurious, comfortable night away.
Reason # 3 The BEST sunsets, from your private balcony
Your room has a private balcony that faces west so you can take in the most glorious sunsets. Watch the sun slowly melt into the horizon and turn the sky into a million shades of pink, red and orange. Bring your favourite drink, sit back and listen to the sounds of the water lapping at the shore.
Reason # 2 Fire pit. Wharf. Sundeck. Lawn games. All yours to explore.
We've created little spots all across our property for our guests to unwind. Grab one of our blankets to keep the chill off and settle in on our private wharf overlooking the 100 Wild Islands or sit fireside and embrace your inner child with s'mores making. Discover your next favourite book on our newly built sun deck with all its comfy patio furniture - including a fire table and patio heaters for chillier days or evenings. If you're looking for something a little more active, try your hand at washer toss, axe throwing (we use plastic axes, no sharp edges over here) or play catch with one of our baseball gloves and balls.
Reason # 1 Hospitality, rest and relaxation.
Our goal at the marmalade is to create the perfect place to unwind and relax. A place where you don't have to do anything. Order one of our fresh grazing boxes, breakfast in bed or picnic and escape to a place where Zoom calls don't exist and pants are still optional. (We wear pants...not optional for staff.)
